What Shipcheck does

Shipcheck checks the web page in your active browser tab for launch/QA issues such as titles, meta tags, share previews, headings, images, links, and related signals. Pro features may fetch same-origin pages, robots.txt, sitemap, and related URLs you choose to check.

Data we access

• Page content of the tab you are checking (DOM, meta, links), only when you run Shipcheck
• Optional Pro network checks to URLs related to that page (for example links, robots.txt, sitemap)
• Optional screenshot of the visible tab for Pro evidence
• The site-wide scan opens the pages you choose to scan in background tabs on your device, checks them, then closes them
• If you ask for real-user Core Web Vitals, the page URL is sent to our server, which looks it up in Google's public Chrome UX Report and returns the result. We do not store it.
• License key you paste to unlock Pro (stored locally in extension storage)
• Optional agency branding settings you enter (logo/name) for white-label reports — stored locally

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data
• We do not use AI / LLMs on your page content. AI fix prompts are only copied to your clipboard
• We do not require an account for Free
• We do not track your browsing history across the web for advertising

Storage

License status and settings are stored in Chrome extension local storage on your device.

Payments

Pro purchases are processed by our payment provider (Dodo Payments). Payment details are handled by them under their privacy policy. We receive purchase/fulfillment signals needed to issue or verify a license.

Website

The marketing site at shipcheck.site may use standard hosting logs (such as IP address and user agent) provided by our host for security and reliability. We use Google Analytics and DataFast to understand site traffic, and Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site through heatmaps and session replays. We do not run advertising trackers on the site for this product.

The free URL tools (website checker, AI crawler checker, llms.txt generator, meta tag checker, security headers checker, broken link checker, and the robots.txt tester) fetch the public URL you enter, plus related public URLs such as its robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap, share image, or the links on the page, to build the result. We do not store the URL or the result. A shareable link to a result simply contains the URL you checked. The website checker's speed and accessibility preview also send the page URL to Google's PageSpeed Insights API; we do not store that request beyond building your report.

The color contrast checker, schema generator, robots.txt generator, accessibility statement generator, and website launch checklist run entirely in your browser. Checklist progress and your portfolio domain list are saved in your browser's local storage only.

Pro web tools (sitemap audit and portfolio check): the license key you enter is saved in your browser's local storage and sent to our API with each Pro request so we can confirm access. Our server keeps a short-lived, in-memory record keyed by a one-way hash of the key (never the key itself) to avoid re-checking it on every request. You can remove the key from your browser at any time.
