About
About Shipcheck
Shipcheck is a Chrome extension that checks the page you have open for the problems that break launches: SEO and share previews, WCAG 2.2 accessibility, AI search visibility, Core Web Vitals, broken links, and launch basics. Each issue comes with a plain-English fix and a prompt you can paste into Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT.
Who builds it
Shipcheck is built and maintained by Sumit Jha, an independent developer. It started as a personal pre-launch checklist: every site launch meant opening a meta tag checker, an accessibility checker, PageSpeed, a robots.txt tester, and a link checker, one tab at a time. Shipcheck puts those checks on the tab you are already looking at, including localhost and staging, where most online tools cannot reach.
Who it is for
Indie hackers shipping their own products, and freelancers and agencies handing sites over to clients. Pro adds white-label reports, multi-page scans, and before/after snapshots so you can show a client exactly what was checked and fixed.
What it checks
- WCAG 2.2 A/AA accessibility audit with fixes (axe-core)
- AI search visibility: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude crawler access, llms.txt, server-rendered content
- AI fix prompts for Cursor, Claude Code, and ChatGPT
- Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) with the slow element named
- Titles, meta descriptions, canonicals, and Google snippet preview
- Open Graph and X share previews
- Broken links and dead anchors
- Keyboard focus-order overlay
- Pre-launch checklist: HTTPS, security headers, 404, robots.txt, sitemap, legal pages
- Multi-page crawl (up to 50 pages) and site-wide accessibility scan (25 pages)
- White-label PDF and Markdown client reports
- Works on localhost, staging, logged-in pages, and production
How the checks work
- Rule-based, not AI. Every check is deterministic code that reads the live page. Nothing on your page is sent to a large language model. Fix prompts are copied to your clipboard, and you choose where to paste them.
- Accessibility uses the open-source axe-core engine for WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules. Automated checks find many issues but not all, so Shipcheck is an audit aid, not a legal certification.
- AI search visibility reads robots.txt rules for the documented crawlers from OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, Apple, and others, and checks whether your content is in the server HTML that those crawlers read.
- Core Web Vitals are measured on the live tab with the browser's own performance APIs, plus Google's public Chrome UX Report field data when your site has enough traffic.
- Privacy: no account is needed for Free, and checks run in your browser. See the privacy policy for the exact network requests.
Pricing
The core checks are free. Pro is a one-time $20 for lifetime access, with no subscription. The free web tools work without installing anything.
