Broken link checker
Paste a URL to test the links on the page (up to 100). See 404s, server errors, and redirects, filter them, and export a CSV for your client or your team.
Why broken links cost more than you think
A dead link on a pricing page or in your docs is a lost signup. For search engines, broken internal links are dead ends that leave the pages behind them harder to discover. Links rot quietly: partners change URLs, docs move, and old blog posts point nowhere.
A good routine
- Check your home, pricing, and docs pages before every launch.
- Fix internal 404s first, then redirect chains, then external links.
- For client sites, export the CSV and attach it to your monthly report.
Questions
How many links does it check?
Up to 100 links per page, internal links first. Run it on each important page. The Pro sitemap audit separately flags pages in your sitemap that return errors.
What does "Blocked bot" mean?
Some sites (LinkedIn, Amazon, and many behind Cloudflare) reject automated requests with 401, 403, 429, or 999 even when the page works for people. Open those links in your browser to confirm.
Are redirects a problem?
A single redirect is fine for visitors and search engines, but each hop adds a request and a little delay. Update internal links to point straight at the final URL. Redirect chains (two or more hops) are worth fixing first.
Does it follow links on JavaScript-rendered pages?
It reads links from the HTML your server returns. If your navigation is built entirely in JavaScript, the Shipcheck extension checks the rendered page instead.
