IndexNow key checker
Enter your site URL and IndexNow key. We fetch /{key}.txt and confirm the body matches so Bing can verify ownership.
What we check
- Whether https://yourdomain.com/{key}.txt is reachable
- Whether the file body matches your key exactly
- A copy-paste example POST body for api.indexnow.org
Questions
What is IndexNow?
An open protocol that tells Bing, Yandex, and other participating engines when URLs change so they can crawl sooner. It does not replace Google Search Console.
Where should the key file live?
At https://yourdomain.com/{your-key}.txt with a body that is exactly the key string—no HTML wrapper.
Does this tool ping IndexNow for me?
No. It only verifies the key file. Ping api.indexnow.org yourself after deploy (or use your site’s npm run indexnow script).
Can I use one key for subdomains?
Host the key file on each host you ping for, or follow IndexNow’s rules for keyLocation. Most small sites use one apex host.
